New concept art of Kong: Skull Island reveals a raging King Kong emerging from the flames of what looks to be a napalm attack.
Empire unveiled the new concept art online (which you can view below) to tease the upcoming issue of their magazine, and they spoke with director Jordan Vogt-Robert, who revealed that the script for Kong: Skull Island initially had the film taking place in 1917 instead of the 1970s.
Kong: Skull Island stomps into theaters on March 10th, 2017. The upcoming film is part of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' shared cinematic universe of massive monsters, with a May 29th, 2020 release date already penciled in for Godzilla vs. Kong, following the March 22nd, 2019 release of Godzilla 2. The international ensemble cast also includes Tian Jing (“Police Story: Lockdown”), Corey Hawkins (“Straight Outta Compton”), Jason Mitchell (“Straight Outta Compton”), John Ortiz (“Steve Jobs”), Thomas Mann (“Beautiful Creatures”), Shea Whigham (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), Toby Kebbell (“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”) and Eugene Cordero (“The Kings of Summer”).
Vogt-Roberts is directing the film from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, John Gatins, Dan Gilroy and Derek Connolly. “Kong: Skull Island” is produced by Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni with Mary Parent. The executive producers are Eric McLeod and Alex Garcia.
