SYNOPSIS:

A Spike Lee Joint, DA SWEET BLOOD OF JESUS is a new kind of love story, one that centers on an addiction to blood that once doomed a long forgotten ancient African tribe. When Dr. Hess Green (Stephen Tyrone Williams) is introduced to a mysteriously cursed artifact by an art curator, Lafayette Hightower (Elvis Nolasco), he is uncontrollably drawn into a newfound thirst for blood that overwhelms his soul. He however is not a vampire. Lafayette quickly succumbs to the ravenous nature of the infliction but leaves Hess a transformed man. Soon Lafayette’s wife, Ganja Hightower (Zaraah Abrahams), comes looking for her husband and becomes involved in a dangerous romance with Hess that questions the very nature of love, addiction, sex, and status in our seemingly sophisticated society."

The Man in the Shadows: "THE MAN IN THE SHADOWS” is a terrifying independent thriller based on the horrifying worldwide phenomenon of sleep paralysis -- a strange phenomenon that leaves sufferers immobilized in their beds, awake but unable to move. They also, sometimes, experience terrifying hallucinations of demons and shadow people, among other things.

Or are they real?

“The Man in the Shadows” will premiere in Los Angeles at the famed Dances with Films Festival on Monday, June 1. Rachel Darwin (Sarah Louise Jurgens, “Covert Affairs”) is pregnant, shackled, giving birth to something terrible, attended to by a dark man in a brimmed hat. She struggles to wake, opens her eyes and he is there. The next day she finds out she's not alone, many others see that Hat Man too. Her husband, Scott (Nick Baillie, “The Dead Zone”), believes her but thinks there is a scientific explanation. Sleep paralysis. Electromagnetically induced hallucinations. Rachel speaks of the Hat Man at group therapy. The addicts and loners reject her, except for William (“Scare Tactics’” Adam Tomlinson, also making his debut as Producer). He believes her more than she believes herself – he believes in multidimensional beings, shadows that feed upon human souls.

Scott's frustration builds as Rachel's sanity slips. She slips into an intoxicated dream confronted by horrors of her past. The nightmares are getting worse. It becomes harder to know what is real and what is not, and that includes the Hat Man."
