We've been updating readers on a number of casting reports for the upcoming Sleepy Hollow TV series pilot and now know who will be playing Ichabod Crane. According to Deadline, Tom Mison (Salmon Fishing In The Yemen, pictured below) will be playing Crane in this modern take on the classic story.

This story was previously said to follow Ichabod Crane, who "partners with Sleepy Hollow’s local female sheriff to solve the mysteries of a town ravaged by the battle between good and evil." We've heard there would be some reference to the past, but it's been revealed that the story is not just a modern day take on the material:

"A captain from the Revolutionary War where he takes off a horseman’s head, Ichabod gets time warped into present day where he is confused by the modern technology but turns out to be a great detective once his enemy, The Headless Horseman, comes back to haunt the town."

Joining Mison on the pilot is Orlando Jones, Katia Winter, and Nicole Beharie. Jones will be playing Lt. Frank Williams, "the serious and sternly professional detective transferred to Sleepy Hollow to investigate a double homicide." Katia Winter will be playing Crane's wife and Nicole Beharie and will play Detective Abbie Archer.  Archer "is about to leave for the FBI Academy when she witnesses the brutal murder of someone close to her, and her story is corroborated by only one person — a man called Ichabod Crane."

The Sleepy Hollow pilot has been written by Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, and will be directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld, Total Recall remake). Expect additional casting news and character details in the coming weeks.
