As promised, Lionsgate just dropped the first trailer for Jessabelle, a new supernatural thriller due out in August from Blumhouse Productions.

"From the mastermind producer of Paranormal Activity and Insidious comes the ghostly tale of Jessabelle. Returning to her childhood home in Louisiana to recuperate from a horrific car accident, Jessabelle (Sarah Snook of Sleeping Beauty) comes face to face with a long-tormented spirit that has been seeking her return -- and has no intention of letting her escape."

Written by Robert Ben Garant (Hell Baby) and directed by Kevin Greutert (Saw 3D: The Final Chapter), Jessabelle stars Sarah Snook (These Final Hours), Mark Webber (13 Sins), David Andrews (World War Z), Joelle Carter (FX's Justified), Ana de la Reguera (Cowboys & Aliens), Larisa Oleynik (ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars), Chris Ellis (The Dark Knight Rises), Fran Bennett, and Amber Stevens (The Amazing Spider-Man).

Lionsgate will release Jessabelle to US theaters on August 29th.
