The cast of American Horror Story continues to grow, with Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, Heroes) negotiating to be the newest addition. He'll be joining the show for a major story arc and will appear in at least four episodes.

According to Deadline, Quinto will be playing "Chad, the gay former owner of the house who becomes friends with Vivien". While the show starts on October 5th, Quinto won't appear until a two-part Halloween episode. The first part will air on Wednesday, October 26th and the second on Halloween night.

With the phrasing "at least" four episodes, we're assuming that the intention is to have him return or have a recurring role, based on his schedule and the success of the show. American Horror Story stars Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton, and Jessica Lange, and will premiere October 5th on FX. The series has been developed by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, with 13 episodes planned for the first season.

“Described as a psychosexual thriller, American Horror Story centers on a therapist (McDermott) and his wife (Britton) who, dealing with the aftermath of the husband’s adultery, move along with their kids into a new house that seems to know all about their fears and plays on them. American Horror Story has strong supernatural elements (For example, the housekeeper is perceived differently by the two spouses) and also explores other forms of horror in society.”
