Weekend Box Office Update

This was a slow weekend for movies at the box office, unless you were Contagion. The Steven Soderbergh-directed virus thriller easily took the top spot, earning over $23 million. Creature opened on 1,507 screens nationwide, but managed to have one of the worst openings in modern box office history, with an estimated take of only $331,000.

Next weekend's big genre release is the remake of Straw Dogs and there will be a limited release of Drive. Here are this weekend's top 10 results:
