Jeff Bridges has apparently accepted the roll of an exorcist in a film adaptation of  the first book in The Last Apprentice series. There are currently 7 books published in the series, with more on the way, dealing with witches and supernatural elements:

"The series is about a seventh son of a seventh son, Thomas J. Ward, who can see and sense creatures of the dark and other things that others cannot. He is apprenticed to train as a "Spook" so he may learn how to deal with the dark."

The title of this first film, will be The Seventh Son, and casting is still under way. We're waiting on additional confirmation of casting rumors and production information.
