Weekend Box Office Update

Tower Heist was expected to take the top spot this weekend, but it was no match for Puss In Boots, which held number 1 for the second weekend in a row. Paranormal Activity 3 earned $8.5 million and should cross the $100 million line next weekend. In comparison, Paranormal Activity 2's domestic total was $85.7 million and the first Paranormal Activity earned $107 million.

Next week's openings include a limited theatrical run of Darren Lynn Bousman's 11-11-11, along with wide releases of Immortals, J. Edgar, and Jack and Jill. Here are the top 10 box office results for this weekend:
