*Spoiler Warning* American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy previously mentioned that some of the actors from season 1 might return for season 2. Now we have additional information, including confirmation of one actress who is returning to the show.

According to Examiner, Jessica Lange announced that she is returning to the show as a new character:

"Jessica Lange will be one of the familiar faces who will be seen in 'American Horror Story' season 2. Met backstage at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards, the actress revealed she is signing up for the new chapter of the FX horror show. She stated that she will be playing an entirely new character."

We expect an official announcement on Jessica Lange's return shortly. Until then, consider this as unofficial, but very likely.

American Horror Story Season 2 will feature a new main cast, theme, and location. During a recent conference, FX president and general manager John Landgraf said to expect 2-3 season 1 actors to play new characters in season 2:

"Ryan Murphy's already looking for that cast... He's already in active conversations with new people and also two or possibly three of the existing cast members, some series regulars or guest cast may be continuing next year although they would be playing entirely new roles."

Ryan Murphy has said to expect an official announcement regarding the new cast and theme of season 2. We'll have more information as it becomes available.
