After witnessing the premiere screening of Channel Zero: No-End House at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, I can safely say that the series' second season is a must-watch. Blending elements of It Follows and Halloween with Brian Russell’s unsettling Creepypasta, No-End House is a potent mix of suburban dread and psychological horror that's a worthy follow-up to the Candle Cove storyline of the first season. While Daily Dead readers will have to wait until October to watch the premiere episode on SYFY, you can now watch a new promo video for the second season of the anthology series.
Directed by Steven Piet (Uncle John), the Channel Zero: No-End House cast includes Amy Forsyth, Aisha Dee, Jeff Ward, and John Carroll Lynch.
When Daily Dead and several other journalists spoke with Channel Zero showrunner Nick Antosca back in November of 2016, he had this to say about the second season, which has a different style (but similar creeping dread) than Candle Cove:
"It’s very different stylistically. Candle Cove is an almost pastoral style. It’s very restrained. It’s very composed and there is this sense of lush greenery and sinister things lurking in the woods.
No-End House is an almost suburban story in the sense of John Carpenter movies or It Follows, and it’s about a younger group of people and the visual style is more kinetic. Going into this, one goal was for each season to be very cinematically distinctive and to be a showcase for a different director and talented DP.
Synopsis: "Inspired by Brian Russell’s Creepypasta tale, Channel Zero: No-End House tells the story of a young woman named Margot Sleator, played by Amy Forsyth, who visits the No-End House, a bizarre house of horrors that consists of a series of increasingly disturbing rooms."
