Seems just like yesterday that Clay Staub's Devil's Gate, starring Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us, Heroes), Shawn Ashmore (The Following), and Amanda Schull, premiered at this year's Tribeca Film Festival. As we approach the official release of the film, we are now getting a trailer and a poster for Devil's Gate, and we have them both to share with Daily Dead readers.
Directed by Clay Staub, Devil's Gate stars Milo Ventimiglia (THIS IS US; HEROES), Shawn Ashmore (X2: X-MEN UNITED), Amanda Schull (12 MONKEYS; SUITS), and Jonathan Frakes (STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION). IFC Midnight will release the movie in select theaters and on VOD and digital platforms beginning January 5th, 2018.
Synopsis: "What unholy force lies locked away in a crumbling, booby-trapped, middle-of-nowhere farmhouse? When a woman and her son mysteriously vanish, FBI agent Daria Francis (Amanda Schull) is dispatched to the small town of Devil’s Gate, North Dakota to investigate the number one suspect: religious fanatic Jackson Pritchard (Milo Ventimiglia), husband and father of the missing persons. But when Francis and local deputy Colt (Shawn Ashmore) arrive at Pritchard’s foreboding property, they discover much more than they bargained for lurking in the basement. Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
