We've been excited to learn more about the James Gunn-produced Brightburn and we now have a look at the first trailer after its debut earlier today at Brazil's Comic Con. Due out on Memorial Day, 2019, this movie puts a very dark spin on a Superman-like origin story:

"What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister?

With Brightburn, the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror."

Brightburn was directed by David Yarovesky, written by Mark Gunn & Brian Gunn, and produced by James Gunn and Kenneth Huang. The cast includes Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones and Meredith Hagner. The movie will be released to theaters on May 24th, 2019.
