"The saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode isn't over." Earlier this summer, Collider reported that a sequel to 2018's Halloween could be moving forward, and today, Jamie Lee Curtis, John Carpenter, and Jason Blum not only confirmed this news with the announcement of Halloween Kills for 2020, but also revealed that another Halloween film titled Halloween Ends will be released in 2021!
A new teaser video (see below) shared by John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jason Blum on Twitter, reveals that Halloween Kills, a sequel to 2018's Halloween, will be released on October 16th, 2020 via Universal Pictures, followed by Halloween Ends on October 15th, 2021!
On Twitter, Jason Blum captioned the video with a confirmation that Jamie Lee Curtis, Danny McBride, David Gordon Green, and John Carpenter will all be returning for the new films. Blumhouse is once again teaming up with Universal Pictures, Trancas International Films, and Miramax to bring the new Halloween movies to life.
The following official details from Universal Pictures confirm that Green will return to direct Halloween Kills (from a screenplay written by Green, McBride, and Scott Teems) and Halloween Ends (from a screenplay written by Green, McBride, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier).
"In response to the global fan enthusiasm for last year’s Halloween, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and directed by David Gordon Green, which went on to become the highest-grossing installment in the classic horror franchise at more than $250 million worldwide, Universal Pictures today announced release dates for two new films in the iconic Halloween series, from Trancas International Films, Miramax and Blumhouse Productions.
HALLOWEEN KILLS will be released on Friday, October 16, 2020.
Written by David Gordon Green & Danny McBride & Scott Teems, based on characters created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill, the film will be directed by David Gordon Green and produced by Malek Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block. John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson, Danny McBride, David Gordon Green and Ryan Freimann are executive producers. Ryan Turek is overseeing the project for Blumhouse.
HALLOWEEN ENDS will be released on Friday, October 15, 2021.

These new titles take the place of previously announced Untitled Blumhouse Productions Projects."
Collider's Jeff Sneider previously reported that deals were in the works to bring back Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter, Karen, and Andi Matichak as Laurie's granddaughter, Allyson.
Halloween (2018) brought in more than $250 million globally on a $10 million production budget, so it's no surprise that a sequel is moving forward, but now horror fans have two new Halloween movies to look forward to, and with the original Halloween included in the timelines of these sequels, these latest movies will form a new quadrilogy in the Halloween franchise.
We'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed for Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends!
