The Strangers 2 Status Update

2012/04/14 16:06:14 +00:00 | Jonathan James

Sequel talk started right after The Strangers hit theaters, but it hasn't been able to get off the ground. It's surprising given the fact that the original film earned $20 million in its first weekend in the United States and its final worldwide take was $82 million.

Fans shouldn't get too excited yet, but producer Marc D. Evans gave a status update during a recent press junket and it looks like a sequel is still moving forward:

"... Well, I think that’s been a bit more of a saga than we would have all liked, and it’s a result of companies being sold and moved around and things like that. But the goal is to move that ahead this fall. Relativity and I have a great script that we love and and we’re in the process of putting that together to get it moving."

Of course, we'll keep an eye out for more information and will let readers know as soon as anything is officially announced.
