A sequel to The Last Exorcism was officially revealed in January, but was untitled because the first movie was supposed to be the LAST exorcism. Eli Roth previously mentioned that their biggest creative challenge would be coming up with the title, and we have news on what the new title may be.

Know The Artist found a casting sheet, which referred to the movie as: Beginning of the End – The Last Exorcism II. That title definitely sounds like they have additional sequels in mind. For those that missed out on the earlier news, filming is taking place in New Orleans with Ed Gass-Donnelly (Small Town Murder Songs) directing. Ashley Bell will return as Nell Sweetzer in the sequel, which takes place 3 months after the events of the first film.

While The Last Exorcism was PG-13, the sequel has been designed as an R-rated film. Eli Roth spoke briefly about the rating and the direction this sequel will be taking in January: “…As you can see from other recent films, fans around the world are fascinated by this subject matter, and we want to go deeper and darker this time. The first film worked great as a PG-13 psychological film, but now we want to go R-rated and show the true horror of what this subject matter offers. The biggest creative challenge will be coming up with the right title!”
