“Bigger Laughs, Bigger Monsters, and One VERY UNHAPPY Werewolf” — An Exclusive Look at CURSE OF THE WHERE WOLF

"Being a werewolf sucks. Reporter Larry Chaney wanted to be a hero. Instead, he became a werewolf. Now, caught between incredible new powers and a desire to eat everything (and everyone) in sight, Larry must find a cure for his curse. Or die trying."

Following the success of Where Wolf, writer Robert Saucedo, artist and colorist Debora Lancianese, and letterer Jack Morelli reteam for CURSE OF THE WHERE WOLF, an "all-new horror-comedy graphic novel that pushes Larry Chaney's misadventures into even stranger, bloodier, and surprisingly more heartfelt territory." The graphic novel will be released by Encyclopocalypse Publications this August, but we're excited to share an exclusive early preview that Daily Dead readers can check out right now!

From the Press Release: "Originally debuting as a black-and-white webcomic through Fangoria before being collected by Encyclopocalypse Publications in 2023, Where Wolf quickly found an audience through its sharp blend of horror, comedy, and Texas-sized absurdity, while also attracting attention beyond comics through an active film and television option with producers Charles Horak and James Fino of Starburns Industries, executive producers of Rick and Morty, Anomalisa, HarmonQuest, and The Freak Brothers."

Rob Saucedo spoke about expanding the world he created while embracing everything he loves about the medium:

“As a lifelong fan of werewolves, mystery novels, and the weirdness that is Texas, the first Where Wolf comic book was born from my desire to tell the ultimate werewolf story for fans of the werewolf genre. I worked with great partners to get it out into the world, including Fangoria and Encyclopocalypse, and producers Charles Horak and James Fino.

With Where Wolf, I wanted to tell a whodunit set in a furry convention, so the story was pretty contained within a very specific setting and genre. With Curse of the Where Wolf, I wanted to celebrate everything I love about the possibility of comic books. Curse of the Where Wolf is a funny book, in every sense of the phrase, but it's also an earnest look at a person's struggle to become a better version of themselves, especially when the alternative is to become a literal monster.

Fans of the first book are going to find the same mix of horror and comedy, but I think they’re going to be even more surprised by the book's heart and humanity. Both books are collaborations with incredibly talented partners. Debora Lancianese is a master of comedy, crafting characters that come to life with humanity and humor. Jack Morelli is an industry legend. To say that I've worked with a man who's worked with both Stan Lee and Archie Andrews blows my mind."

Curse of the Where Wolf will be released on August 7th, but you can preorder your copy now at: https://encyclopocalypse.com/products/where-wolf-copy
