My Bloody Valentine 3D and Drive Angry's Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer are busy working on a re-launch of Hellraiser and briefly talked to MTV news about the project. While there isn't much that wasn't already revealed in the past, Patrick Lussier talks about wanting Doug Bradley in the film. He was asked if Doug Bradley would return in a cameo or other role and Lussier said "Absolutely":

"Doug is pretty critical and key to the whole history of the franchise, just his face and how it looks covered in the pins and his voice, just his presence... That's something that we're working through with Dimension right now, about the uniqueness in the approach to Pinhead and how he'll appear and how he'll resonate with the past and how he'll be presented to the future."

While this film is being referred to as a reboot or a remake, it is actually a relaunch of the series that still appears to tie back to the original film and mythology set up by Clive Barker. We'll be interested to see if Doug Bradley will play the original Pinhead passing on the torch to a new Cenobite or if he's playing a completely different character in the film. The new Hellraiser is being developed with an R-rating in mind and is tentatively set for release sometime next year. To read the rest of the interview, head over to the source link below.
