There's no need to wonder about who's joining the cast of Bates Motel, because it looks like all of the major Bates Motel Season 2 casting news has been announced within the last twenty four hours. So, who's joining Norma and Norman in the new season?

[via Deadline] Michael Vartan (Alias) will be playing George, "a charming divorcé who catches Norma’s eye." Michael Eklund (The Call) will be playing play Zane Carpenter, "a new upper level player in Dylan's drug family." Rebecca Creskoff (Hung) will be playing Christine, a character "who befriends Norma, pulling her into the upper circle of White Pine Bay Society." Kenny Johnson (Sons Of Anarchy) is taking on the role of Caleb, Norma's brother.

Filming has already started on the 10-episode second season, and we expect it to premiere early next year on A&E. For more details on Bates Motel Season 2, keep an eye out for our interviews with the cast and creators later this week.

Previously: With a Bates Motel panel taking place at Comic-Con next weekend, we're expecting plenty of new information about the upcoming second season. Until then, a new report confirms three new characters that we'll meet, including another member of the family. Here's what executive producer Carlton Cuse recently told TV Guide about his plans for next season: "We would be remiss if we didn't meet some other members of the Bates family... I don't want to say who, but we are definitely going to learn about their family tree, which has more twisty branches." Nestor Carbonell also hinted that we'll be learning more about Dylan's father: "the big question mark is Dylan's dad... There's certainly a story to be told there."

According to TVLine, the new characters include:

  • George, a recently divorced charmer in his late 40s who could be The One for Norma
  • Christine, a local socialite in her late 30s who becomes Norma’s first real friend
  • Caleb, Norma’s estranged fortysomething brother who comes to town to coax his little sis into investing in a presumably shady business venture."

The second season of Bates Motel is expected to premiere in early 2014. You can learn more about the first season's Blu-ray/DVD release by visiting:
