R.L. Stine's children's horror novel series, Goosebumps, was the perfect bedtime read for many teens growing up during the 90's. A Tumblr blogger has combined his love for Goosebumps and horror movies, both old and new, to create a series of original book covers entitled 'If It Were Stine':
"Whether it was the dripping neon slime, the terrifyingly gaudy cover illustrations or the sheer spine-tingling horror of the stories themselves- there's no doubt that R. L. Stine's classic series has shaped a generation of horror lovers. So what happens when the two worlds of horror collide? When the terror of The Exorcist or The Blair Witch Project meets the bad puns and outrageous titles of our beloved book series?...That's where I come in. I hope you enjoy my blog."
'If It Were Stine' is the work of Theodore Holmstead-Scott, the founder and cover designer from New Zealand, and new member Jude Deluca from the US who writes the titles and blurbs. Here are some examples of their covers and blurbs, some are easy to recognize and others are a little bit trickier if you're new to the genre. Head on over to If It Were Stine to check out more of their designs. *This story was submitted by Jemma George.
