Having played Jock Kid in The Benchwarmers, enraged ex-boyfriend Glen in Stuck in Love, and Frat Boy Cooper in Grown Ups 2, Patrick Schwarzenegger is no stranger to the role of intimidating, popular kid on the block. Those are fitting roles for the son of the Terminator, the ultimate intimidating force on film. Now signed on to the growing cast of Scouts vs. Zombies, Patrick Schwarzenegger will again have the chance to be big man on campus, but this time he could be zombified.
According to Deadline, in Scouts vs. Zombies Schwarzenegger will play a high school quarterback who opposes a trio of boy scout buds played by young actors Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller, and Joseph Morgan. Veteran comedic actor David Koechner is attached to play Scout Leader Rogers.
Having just directed Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, Christopher Landon will now helm this feature for Paramount, and here's what he told us about his zombie coming-of-age tale in a recent interview:
“I’m really looking forward to working on Scouts too. What’s funny is when I initially heard about the project, I was a tad dismissive of it because title just sounds obvious. But when I read the script, I was completely shocked by how oddly emotionally-grounded it was. It’s really a movie about friendship, about these three boys, and they’re at that point where they’re starting to grow apart and the only thing that’s kept them friends is scouting. The movie takes place on their last campout and so I fell in love with it because of the emotional core that the story has and all those themes- like friendship and loyalty- that I think we can all relate to. And there are zombies, of course (laughs).”
