The outbreak started in Raccoon City, but the living dead made their way into the video game world before shambling onto the big screen. The zombie infection created in an Umbrella Corporation lab could spread to the small screen, too, as it's been revealed that a Resident Evil spin-off TV series is in the works.
According to Variety, Constantin Film is developing a Resident Evil TV series that is planned to premiere sometime after the the next (and perhaps, final) installment in Paul W.S. Anderson's stylish zombie-slaying film series.
Principal photography on the follow-up to 2012's Resident Evil: Retribution (the franchise's fifth film), tentatively titled Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, is expected to begin next summer in South Africa, so it will be a while before the TV series makes its debut.
It's not known at this time what characters the Resident Evil TV series would follow, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated.
