Paramount has been looking to remake Pet Sematary has for years now, but it appears that this may be closer to becoming a reality. According to Twitch Film, Alexandre Aja (Piranha 3D and The Hills Have Eyes remakes) is currently in talks to direct the Pet Sematary remake.

Alexandre Aja recently associated himself with a number of new projects. On top of any feature films he'll be directing, he's also serving as executive producer on a Scanners TV series.

A script for the Pet Sematary remake been completed earlier this year by Matt Greenberg (1408) and Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Steven Schneider are producing. We'll report back as soon as this becomes official or we have another update regarding the status of the project.
