A cast of eclectic characters come together with bloody results in the official trailer for Bastard. Also featured in our latest round-up are release details on Joe Kelly's graphic novel, Bang!Tango, as well as four new T-shirts from Fright Rags, including one that showcases Dr. Decker from Clive Barker's Nightbreed.
Bastard: "Directed by Powell Robinson and Patrick R Young, Bastard stars Rebekah Kennedy, Ellis Greer, Dan Creed, Will Tranfo, and Tonya Kay.
BASTARD follows newlywed, hitch-hiking serial killers, a brother and sister on the run, and a trigger-happy suicidal cop as they get caught in an increasingly bizarre series of murders committed by a masked killer near a mountain-town bed and breakfast."

Bang!Tango: Press Release - "Vinnie’s years in the mob have him constantly looking over his shoulder, on the run from The Jock, a sadistic mob boss, and his gang. Vinnie has finally built a new life as the best tango dancer San Francisco has ever seen, with a new love who is planning their future together … until Autumn blows into town. Autumn: the one who broke Vinnie’s heart. In BANG!TANGO, coming from the Man of Action imprint on Image Comics, Autumn pulls Vinnie into one last job -- stealing from the mob boss who wants Vinnie dead, so that Autumn can pay for gender reassignment surgery that will make her the woman Vinnie always wanted. No one is really who they seem to be and you never know whom you can trust in BANG!TANGO. The dance between right and wrong, shadow and light, male and female -- enter the world of BANG!TANGO, where the lines are always blurred.
Written by Joe Kelly (I KILL GIANTS, BAD DOG) with art by Adrian Sibar, BANG!TANGO is shocking, seductive, and visually explosive. Originally published by Vertigo in 2009, it is now being collected for the first time by Image with a near complete artistic face lift by co-creator Sibar.
“I'd never tried a crime book before, but knew that if I was going to go there, I was really going there,” said Kelly. “The characters in Bang!Tango aren't just broken, they're shattered. They are also complicated, sexually provocative, over-the-top and on occasion... even a bit redeemable. But this is a crime noir... no one really gets out clean, do they?”
Kelly describes BANG!TANGO as a deconstruction of crime story archetypes — the “Tough Guy” and “Femme Fatale” are altered in a way that redefines those roles. The result is a book that is violent, sexy, and perverse — while simultaneously an examination of violence, sex, and perversion. BANG!TANGO is one of my more offbeat comic children, and I love every twisted bit of it," adds Kelly.
BANG!TANGO is now in book stores and comic book stores. ISBN 978-1-63215-250-3, Diamond Comic order code DEC140652, 128 pages, paperback, color, $14.99, Collects BANG!TANGO #1-6, Rated Mature.
About Man of Action Entertainment/Joe Kelly
Man of Action Entertainment, the bi-coastal creative studio started in 2000, created the megahit Ben 10 and Generator Rex for Cartoon Network. Man of Action, a writers collective, is co-executive producer and writer for Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man and executive producer/writer for Marvel's Avengers Assemble on Disney XD. Man of Action Entertainment consists of creators Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle. Disney/Marvel's Academy Award®-winning feature film Big Hero 6 utilized the characters and team created by Man of Action's Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle and they are credited accordingly in the opening titles.
The quartet collectively worked on the largest franchise characters in comics from Superman to X-Men before refocusing on creating their own original worlds/characters for their original comic books and graphic novels published through their Man of Action imprint at Image Comics. In comics, Kelly's Eisner-nominated I Kill Giants (illustrated by Ken Niimura) received numerous awards and accolades domestically and internationally including the "International Manga Award" in 2012 and was named the one of the "Top Ten Great Graphic Novels for Teens" by the Young Adult Library Services Association upon its release. Now I Kill Giants is in pre-production as a feature film with a script by Kelly and producers including Man of Action Entertainment, Chris Columbus, XYZ Films and Treehouse Pictures. Kelly's legendary Superman story, Action Comics #775: "What's So Funny About Truth, Justice & the American Way?" was turned into a hit DC Universe 2012 animated film, Superman vs. The Elite, scripted by Kelly. He's long been credited with revising and revitalizing Deadpool. Whenever life allows, Kelly is proud to teach Writing for Animation at his alma mater, NYU's Department of Dramatic Writing, where he earned his MFA. Kelly's current comic book projects include the dark irreverent comedy, Bad Dog, Four Eyes, the genre-splicing revenge tale about dragon-fighting in depression-era Manhattan, and BANG!TANGO, a crime noir thriller that is violent, sexy, and perverse — while simultaneously an examination of violence, sex, and perversion.
