Last month, Riverdale went to Hell with the release of Archie Comics: Judgment Day #1, the first issue in a three-issue miniseries from writer Aubrey Sitterson and artist Megan Hutchison that follows Archie Andrews as he looks to cleanse his hometown of demonic activity, even if it means destroying his dearest friends along the way.

If your head is still spinning from the deadly events of the first issue, then take a break from pouring salt circles and check out our exclusive look at Megan's unlettered black-and-white artwork for the third issue of Archie Comics: Judgment Day ahead of its July 31st release!

Below, you can see demonic twists on familiar faces from Riverdale in our exclusive look at Megan's scary good black-and-white artwork from Archie Comics: Judgment Day #3, and for more insights into the macabre and heart-wrenching miniseries, here's what artist Megan Hutchison and writer Aubrey Sitterson had to say about bringing Judgment Day to Riverdale:

Artist Megan Hutchison: “It has been so much fun to put characters that I grew up with through the wringer. I will say this — whenever I have to draw Jughead, it breaks my heart a little. I don’t want to reveal more than that, but he’s always been my favorite and we’re being really mean to him. Archie, too — we’re really pushing him to the limits. It’s fun!”

Writer Aubrey Sitterson: "All other things being equal, I believe that the quality ceiling for a comic by a single creator is always going to be higher than one with multiple cooks in the kitchen. But, with a cocreator like Megan, who is so generous with her ideas and talents, it becomes possible to narrow that gap through a truly collaborative approach, in which everyone involved understands, appreciates, and celebrates what the others are bringing to the table. The end result is the visual presentation of complex, even ambiguous ideas, something that's all but impossible in assembly line comics.”
