Mark your calendars—online or otherwise—and get ready for more spell casting, because the premiere date for American Horror Story Season 8 has been announced.

On the official American Horror Story Twitter account, the date "9.12" was posted along with the caption "Not long now", indicating that the eighth season of the horror anthology series will premiere on FX on Wednesday, September 12th.

American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy recently tweeted that the eighth season will be a crossover between the first season's Murder House story and the third season's Coven theme. In that tweet, Murphy mentioned that "WITCHES RULE THIS SEPTEMBER", so it looks like we can expect more dark magic this fall.

We can also expect to see the return of familiar faces in season 8. As TV Guide mentions, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Emma Roberts, and Billie Lourd are all expected to come back for the eighth season, with some of them potentially reprising their roles from previous installments. Also joining the cast in season 8 will be Joan Collins.

The title and specific plot details for American Horror Story Season 8 have yet to be revealed, but we'll keep Daily Dead readers updated as more information is announced. What do you hope to see in the series' eighth season?
