Anchor Bay continues to make significant investments in new horror films and has picked up The Demented, with plans to release it in 2013. The movie recently finished filming in Louisiana and was written and directed by Chris Roosevelt.

Synopsis: Six college friends meet up for a carefree weekend that turns deadly. A terrorist attack in a nearby town infects much of the townspeople with a deadly virus that induces rabies-like symptoms, only far more severe. Several of those infected (the title characters) attack the estate where the friends have been vacationing. Can they survive? Where will they hide? Is anyone left? Will we ever get our fill of these flesh eating zombie fiends? (No, to the last question).

The Demented stars Sarah Butler, Michael Welch, Kayla Ewell, Brittney Alger, and Richard Kohnke. Expect an official press release announcing the acquisition in the near future, hopefully with more plot details. We'll continue to cover this title and will let readers know as soon as more information and assets are released. We expect this title to receive a limited theatrical release with a Blu-ray/DVD release to follow shortly after.

Upcoming horror titles to be distributed by Anchor Bay include Michael Biehn's The Victim, Excision, Chained, Bait 3D, The Amazing Adventures of the Living Corpse, and Jersey Shore Shark Attack. They are also directly involved in a number of productions, including the remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night (simply titled Silent Night) and Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things.
