Deadline is reporting that Apollo 18 and Piranha 3DD have both been delayed. Apollo 18, the found footage Sci-fi expected to be released on April 22nd this year, has been moved all the way to January 6th, 2012. Piranha 3DD was moved up two months from September to November 23rd, 2011.

I wasn't impressed with the recently released trailer for Apollo 18, which appeared to give away most of the movie's plot. While Piranha 3DD being moved up a couple of months seems like a strategic change, Apollo 18 moving up an entire year seems to me like the movie needed some serious improvements. I'm sure we'll hear more on the reason for the delay soon, but extra time spent working on the film can only make it better.
