Blumhouse Productions had yet another opening weekend hit with Insidious: Chapter 2, reeling in huge profits thanks to its low production cost. It's been revealed that the next film on the agenda for the company is Incarnate, starring Aaron Eckhart. Here's what we know about the plot at this time:
"An unconventional exorcist who can tap into the subconscious of the possessed meets his match when a 9-year-old boy is possessed by a demon from his past."
Deadline reports that Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) is exec producing and directing the script from Ronnie Christensen. Jason Blum, founder and CEO of Blumhouse, is producing with a number of executive producers: Couper Samuelson, Michael Seitzman, Trevor Engelson, Stuart Ford and Charles Layton. Aaron Eckhart is set to star, and can also be seen in the upcoming horror movie I, Frankenstein, due for release in January.
The film could potentially develop into a franchise, and Blum already has the Paranormal Activity and Insidious franchises to his name. Incarnate will go into production in November and currently there is no distributor attached. *This story was submitted by Jemma George.
