Capcom talks Resident Evil 6

Capcom's SVP Christian Svensson briefly talked to GamerZines about their plans for Resident Evil 6. It may be a long way off, but if you liked what Capcom did with Resident Evil 4, their recent comments should keep you hopeful. Even though it has previously been referred to as a "reboot", their definition of a reboot isn't exactly the same as most:

"We're making some drastic changes to a series to update it and keep it relevant... There are a variety of definitions that people have for what a reboot means... To me, a reboot means a new direction, a brand new update for the franchise. That doesn't mean you throw everything away and start from scratch. People say Resident Evil 4 was a reboot for the Resident Evil franchise? Did Resident Evil 4 throw away all of the series canon and start from scratch? It didn't."

While we wait for Resident Evil 6, there are plenty of upcoming Resident Evil titles to keep us busy, including Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, which is due out later this year. [Thanks, ROH]
