One of my most prized possessions in my horror collection is a signed copy of Gunnar Hansen’s Chain Saw Confidential: How We Made the World's Most Notorious Horror Movie, and although it's been out of print for several years, I'm thrilled that many more readers will now get to experience Gunnar's insightful book, as Chain Saw Confidential has now been officially rereleased in hardcover, paperback, and eBook by Dark Ink.

We have official release details and a look at the cover art below, and in case you missed it, Dark Ink is teaming up with CreatorVC to publish the In Search of Darkness coffee table companion book written by Heather Wixson and Patrick Bromley!

In honor of Chainsaw Massacre Day, Dark Ink, the publisher that released Kane Hodder and Tom Savini’s biographies along with the upcoming In Search of Darkness book, is Honored to announce that they will be rereleasing Gunnar Hansen’s classic, Chain Saw Confidential: How We Made the World's Most Notorious Horror Movie.

Released in 2013, Gunnar’s beloved book has been out of print for half a decade, making it almost impossible to get. “Having talked to Gunnar many times about his book and writing before his passing, I am utterly honored to be getting Chainsaw back out there for fans to honor his legacy and the film that changed the world. We could not be happier having his book alongside his friends and colleagues titles.  We plan to keep it available for fans for generations to come.”  Said Michael Aloisi, owner of Dark Ink.

With a new cover and a foreword by author Ray Garton, Chain Saw Confidential will be available in Paperback, Hardcover and eBook versions today, from all major retailers and Dark Ink’s site.  The original Audiobook with Gunnar Hansen narrating will be out later this year.

About the Book:

The original 1974 film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre seized the imaginations of audiences and critics alike. A controversial cult sensation recognized by Total Film as the greatest horror movie ever made, it's been shown at Cannes, briefly banned in England, and included in the permanent collection of New York's MoMA. This fascinating literary memoir of the making of the film comes from the utterly unique perspective of Gunnar Hansen, the actor who played the chain saw-wielding Leatherface. A critically acclaimed poet and author, Hansen tells the real story of the film, debunking myths, giving behind-the-scenes details, and offering insights on the film's reception and our enduring fascination with the horror genre today.

About the Author - Derek Anderson

Raised on a steady diet of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Derek has been fascinated with fear since he first saw ForeverWare being used on an episode of Eerie, Indiana.

When he’s not writing about horror as the Senior News Reporter for Daily Dead, Derek can be found daydreaming about the Santa Carla Boardwalk from The Lost Boys or reading Stephen King and Brian Keene novels.
