If you keep up on the latest horror news, you've likely heard that Dimension Films has been trying to move forward on a found footage-style take on The Amityville Horror, titled "Amityville: The Lost Tapes." That project is no more, but Dimension Films has teamed up with Blumhouse Productions for a new Amityville movie and we have the details on who's involved.

Franck Khalfoun, who recently helmed the Maniac remake, has been hired to direct the new movie that is said to revolve around a "a single mother who moves her three kids into the "Amityville” house, which of course has a very dark history." According to The Wrap, Bella Thorne (pictured below, left) will star in the movie and Bloody Disgusting revealed that Jennifer Jason Leigh has also been cast.

The script was written by Daniel Farrands and Casey La Scala, and filming should commence in the very near future. A release date is currently set for January 2nd, 2015.
