In January 2012, we heard that a writer was hired to write a feature film based on R.L. Stine's Goosebumps. We haven't heard anything since, but a new report reveals that a director is close to signing on. 

According to Deadline, Rob Letterman is in negotiations to take on the project for Sony Pictures. Previously, Letterman directed Gulliver's TravelsMonsters vs. Aliens and Shark Tale. At this time there are no details on the story, so we aren't sure if it is based on a specific book from R.L. Stine or simply takes place in that universe. We'll be sure to let readers know when more details become available.

The original Goosebumps series started with Welcome To Dead House in July 1992 and continued until 1997 with a total of 62 books. Since then, there have been numerous spin-off books, a TV series, and video games.
