I unabashedly love both Dark Castle's Thir13en Ghosts from 2001 and the William Castle 13 Ghosts from 1960 in "Illusion-O." I even own a pair of the 3D glasses given out in theaters for 13 Ghosts, so trust me when I say that I'm super excited for the possibility of a Thirteen Ghosts series!

Patrick Mediate, Ashley Robinson and Aaron McLane are producers at Primordial Pictures who have partnered with Dark Castle Entertainment in hopes of bringing a Thirteen Ghosts series to life. In the Dark Castle film, the house was as big of a character as the leads or ghosts, and that is the plan for the new series, but they're taking it to a whole new level:

“Fans of the 2001 remake of Thirteen Ghosts will remember Cyrus’ large glass house was a centerpiece of the storyline. Our version ups the ante (and the scale of things). What once was a mansion has now been reimagined as a sprawling compound; almost every inch of it inhabited by trapped evil entities. This gives us more of a battleground to play in and more unique touch points for confrontations; think, Jurassic Park, but with ghosts. The entire compound is furnished with grisly artifacts that Cyrus has acquired throughout his travels (the buttresses are gallows, the bathtub someone was murdered in). It’s a living, breathing crime scene…all constructed to keep the energies of the spirits thriving within its gates.”

Of course, this isn't a done deal yet, so fans will want to make their voices heard online. The hope is that Sony will be as excited at the thought of an epic Thirteen Ghosts series as the fans, Dark Castle Entertainment, and the folks at Primordial Pictures:

“We must stress that although Dark Castle Entertainment has been a partner in trying to bring our concept for a 13 Ghosts series to life, Sony still holds a portion of the rights, and thus, the fate of this series ever being greenlit now sits entirely in their court. We’re hoping they agree to give current and future fans of the property the opportunity to experience this exceptionally epic story and the unique world that we have created for them.”

Late last month, the Primordial Pictures team shared a lot more details on the series, so for those interested you can head over to Bloody Disgusting and Dread Central after checking out the concept art below:
