The story of Green Week continues today with the release of issue 6. We have a letter from Green Wake writer and co-creator Kurtis Wiebe, discussing his thoughts on issue 6 and talking about what we'll see in the near future. We also have Green Wake artist and co-creator Riley Rossmo's favorite panel from the issue:
"Green Wake #6 is the beginning of the end. A bit cliché, but absolute truth. What Riley and I established in the first arc was a very focused story of love and loss in the confines of a mysterious and monstrous town. With the announcement of our series being extended into an ongoing saga, we have all the room we need to begin answering some mesmerizing plot threads we only had the chance to touch on in the first five issues.
Green Wake is alive, as Carl stated in his final moments of the first arc, and rather than further murky the waters of our little mystery, we are going to start answering all the questions we’ve already raised.
Want to know the origin of Green Wake? Answers are coming in Issue 7.
Want to know how someone gets in the boat that takes them to Green Wake? Answers are coming in Issue 6.
I promise you, we have great things in store. More murder, monsters and a fresh batch of new and returning compelling characters. It’s everything you loved about Green Wake, only now the doors have burst wide open and our playground has became much, much larger.
As best summarized in Green Wake #6:
'What is Green Wake? It’s whatever you wish it to be. It wants us to stay, to never forget our sorrow so that we continually live in fear of it.'
Enjoy the ride.
Kurtis Wiebe"
