Now, he's launching Strange Land Comics, a new boutique studio dedicated to "high-concept, mind-bending, brain-candy sci-fi." “I’ve spent decades writing games that gave you the joy of shooting aliens in the head, while also trying to make you cry over your controller,” said Rubin. “Now, with Strange Land Comics, I’m aiming for that same mix of emotional punches and mind-bending adventure — but with fewer cheat codes.”
A New Home for Elevated Sci-Fi Comics
Strange Land Comics is committed to pushing the boundaries of the medium, delivering genre fiction for grown-ups — stories that blend action, emotion, and existential twists.
“We love laser guns and magic, but we also love characters that break your heart, and the kinds of twists that pull the rug out from under you and make you question your own reality,” Rubin says.
Strange Land’s Launch Title is Coming to Kickstarter
The studio’s debut title, Time Sensitive, is an existential sci-fi thriller, in the vein of Severance, Black Mirror and Inception.
