The new Power Rangers movie may not come out until next year, but EW has sweetened the wait for fans by revealing the first look at the group's new suits.

While the colors of the suits are the same—yellow, black, red, pink, and blue—the futuristic look of the outfits are definitely a new take on what fans may remember from watching Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on Saturday mornings in the mid-’90s.

Here's what Power Rangers director Dean Israelite told EW about the team's new look:

“The show was about kids coming of age, about metamorphosis. These suits needed to feel like they were catalyzed by these kids and their energy, their spirit.”

Additionally, production designer Andrew Menzies discussed how the alien nature of the new suits allows them to literally grow on the protagonists:

"Ours is an alien costume that grows on them, that’s not man-made."

Directed by Israelite (Project Almanac) and slated for a March 24th, 2017 release, Power Rangers stars Becky G (Yellow Ranger Trini), Ludi Lin (Black Ranger Zack), Dacre Montgomery (Red Ranger Jason), Naomi Scott (Pink Ranger Kimberly), RJ Cyler (Blue Ranger Billy), and Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa.

What do you think of the new suits? Do you like their futuristic feel, or would you prefer that they hearkened back more to the Mighty Morphin days?
