If you loved the indie sci-fi hit Monsters that was recently released, you'll be happy to hear that its director, Gareth Edwards, is set to sign on as the director of the big-budget Godzilla movie for Legendary Pictures.

Last year, Legendary Pictures acquired the rights for a new Godzilla movie from Toho, and while there has been minor news here and there, nothing substantial had been announced. With someone in the director's chair, we seeing a new Godzilla film is a lot closer to becoming a reality. Gareth will be working on with a new writer on the script and we look forward to seeing what direction they take this film.
