Whether it's the autumnal chill in the night air or the crunch of freshly fallen leaves underfoot, the signs of another Spooky Season are lurking around every corner, and we're thrilled (and chilled) to once again team up with Archie Comics to provide Daily Dead readers with the weekly treat of exclusive previews from their family-friendly (and festively frightful) digest comics, and this week we have an early look at seasonal sprites Trick and Treat returning to cause more Halloween havoc for Sabrina Spellman and her friends, with Trick giving his own spooky spin on a Halloween-themed cooking contest (much to the dismay of Jughead and his eerie appetite)!

Below, you can check out our exclusive preview of "Trick or Eat," written by Tania del Rio with artwork by Holly G!, inks by Jim Amash, colors by Glenn Whitmore, and lettering by the legendary Jack Morelli. "Trick or Eat" is a new story featured in World of Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #144, haunting shelves on October 9th from Archie Comics, and as an additional seasonal treat, we have the classic story "Night Fright" to read in its entirety!

For those unfamiliar with Trick and Treat, we have a look at their biography page from The Archie Encyclopedia, which I highly recommend for new readers and longtime Archie Comics fans alike.

Be sure to check out our previous Archie Comics Halloween previews and read the recurring "Archie's House of Horror" column written by Jamie L. Rotante, Senior Director of Editorial and writer at Archie Comics! To learn more about Archie Comics and all of their scary good releases, visit:

About the Author - Derek Anderson

Raised on a steady diet of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Derek has been fascinated with fear since he first saw ForeverWare being used on an episode of Eerie, Indiana.

When he’s not writing about horror as the Senior News Reporter for Daily Dead, Derek can be found daydreaming about the Santa Carla Boardwalk from The Lost Boys or reading Stephen King and Brian Keene novels.
