We've been hearing quite a bit about The Munsters TV series reboot lately, but series creator Bryan Fuller also has been working for Hannibal for NBC. The network has plenty of confidence in the series and Fuller, because they have gone straight to a 13-episode first season commitment over an initial pilot order.

We've known that Hannibal was supposed to be based on a Red Dragon-era Hannibal Lecter and that has been confirmed in a recent report: "[Hannibal]... is described as an hourlong contemporary thriller featuring characters from Harris' best-seller and revolves around FBI agent Will Graham and his mentor, Dr. Hannibal Lecter, who are reintroduced as the beginning of their budding relationship."

The recent delay of The Munsters reboot due to casting has given Fuller additional time to focus on the Hannibal project. He will both write and executive produce the series, but that is all we know at this time in terms of cast & crew. Keep an eye out for more announcements in the coming weeks.
