31 Ghost Stories Kickstarter: Press Release: "31 Ghost Stories is a new anthology for those who loved Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and Goosebumps. Each story by Jeff Provine is illustrated with the haunting shadowy of Ellis Goodson, concept artist for games like Jurassic Park. The book launches on October 10 through Kickstarter, and every copy purchased will be matched with a copy donated to a library.
“Stories are meant to be shared,” Provine said.
Through one hundred pages, 31 Ghost Stories explores new twists through the old tropes of haunted tales. These stories will chill readers of all ages, as well as warm their hearts and tickle their funny bones. Each story is accompanied by an original artwork that echoes the haunting work of Stephen Gammell and Tim Jacobus. The book concludes with an afterword about sources that inspired each story.
Provine has been sharing ghost stories since 2009 when he started a charity walking tour on his college campus. These stories came from months of research, digging into archives and interviewing people for firsthand accounts. His tours have raised money for scholarships, children’s advocacy, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Following such success, he has since launched two more local tours and published four collections of Oklahoma folklore through the History Press.
The Kickstarter will be available from October 10 to November 10, 2016. Videos with art and sample readings are available on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?
