Directed by Jennifer Blanc-Biehn and starring Michael Biehn, Tia Carrere, Evie Thompson, and Tristan DeVan, The Girl recently won the Best Feature Film award in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror/Thriller section at the 2016 Burbank Film Festival. Blanc-Biehn Productions' The Girl Wins Award at 2016 Burbank Film Festival: Press Release: (LOS ANGELES, CA / September 22, 2016) – Independent film company Blanc-Biehn Productions' horror film The Girl earned a win for Best Feature Film in the Sci-Fi-Fantasy- Horror-Thriller category at the 2016 Burbank Film Festival in Burbank, California.

The tense sci-fi thriller stars Michael Biehn, and is directed by his Blanc-Biehn Productions (and real-life) partner Jennifer Blanc-Biehn. The Festival triumph bodes well for the film's domestic release in January 2017.

"Michael and I are obviously so proud of this movie," said Blanc-Biehn of The Girl, released in the UK under the title Psychopath. "As a director, it's gratifying enough to see your work realized on the big screen; to win an award too… there are no words."

The Girl - written by Bradley and Kevin Marcus, executive produced and based on a screenplay by Lony Ruhman - also stars Tia Carrere (pictured, attached), Evie Louise Thompson, Tristan DeVan, Lorraine Ziff, Hallie Jordan and Nick Nicholson. The movie explores the kidnapping of a teen (Thompson), her rescue by the kidnapper's young boy (DeVan) and the sadistic horrors that await them both.

"Evie and Tristan were so riveting in conveying the horror at the heart of The Girl, Tia Carrere brought a mother's quiet misery to life and Michael… well, Michael always delivers an amazing performance," said Blanc-Biehn.

AMY BRUNI
Raised in a haunted house with her free-thinking family, Amy was never taught to fear ghosts but only to seek out and try to understand them. In 2014, after seven seasons as the historical researcher on Syfy's Ghost Hunters, she left the show to start a boutique paranormal travel company called Strange Escapes. The birth of her daughter has inspired her to focus more on helping families try to reach the spirits of their loved ones.

ADAM BERRY
Adam began a lifelong fascination with the supernatural after having a ghostly encounter that changed his entire way of thinking. In 2010, he won Syfy’s reality competition showGhost Hunters Academy, earning a coveted spot on Ghost Hunters. Berry and his husband now run their own non-profit theatre company, but Adam still maintains a foothold in paranormal investigation so that he can continue to help families deal with the unexplained.

Katrina also hosted Chiller’s Real Fear: The Truth Behind the Movies, in which she traveled the country looking for the real-life stories that inspired some of the world’s most iconic horror films. Currently, Weidman can be seen alongside Nick Groff as host of Destination America’s hit series, Paranormal Lockdown.

DALEN SPRATT
As the leader of the group, Dalen identifies, researches, and organizes the locations that the GHOST BROTHERS investigate. When he was 7 years old, Dalen saw an apparition in his grandmother’s house and that experience is one that has been forever ingrained in his memory. Born and raised in Dallas, his mother is the head Pastor of a church and his religious upbringing made him realize that there must be some higher power governing us all, having a profound impact on his life and how he approaches exploring the paranormal.

JUWAN MASS
From Chicago, Juwan’s fascination with the paranormal started at just 12 years old when he would go ghost hunting in graveyards. He would experience drastic temperature drops and eerie shifts in energy that he wasn’t able to explain, physical sensations that piqued his curiosity and drove him to explore more. In 2005, Juwan and Dalen met as fraternity brothers at Clark Atlanta University, and bonded over a shared interest in the unknown. In 2011, they started investigating haunted locations that included cemeteries, hotels and churches, and have been on a mission to uncover evidence of the paranormal ever since.

MARCUS HARVEY
Atlanta-based Marcus is a barber with celebrity clientele, and began cutting Dalen’s hair six years ago. When he shared his paranormal experience with Dalen – of being asleep and having a vivid sensation of an entity putting their hands over his mouth – Dalen quickly invited Marcus to join he and Juwan on their next hunt, and it’s been the GHOST BROTHERS trio ever since. Marcus considers himself the charmer of the group, the playful character who brings the humor but also handles the tools and technology for the team."
