CONTROL FREAK: "Directed and written by Shal Ngo, known for his work on "The Park," "The Box," and "The Last Fisherman," "Control Freak" introduces a chilling narrative: "A motivational speaker is tormented by an unrelenting itch on the back of her head." This intriguing premise leads into a terrifying journey as she battles a parasitic demon from her homeland, bringing a fresh and thrilling perspective to the horror genre.
Shal Ngo was tapped to write and direct the short film "Control" in 2021 for the second season of Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween. The feature version of "Control Freak" developed from this initial short, becoming part of WorthenBrooks’s robust slate of horror features for Hulu, which includes titles like "Appendage," “The Mill," "Clock," "Mr. Crocket," and “Carved."
The film stars Kelly Marie Tran, celebrated for her roles in “Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi” and "Raya and the Last Dragon," as Valerie, a woman whose life spirals into chaos due to this inexplicable and relentless affliction. Alongside Tran, Miles Robbins plays her on-screen husband Robbie, adding depth and suspense to the storyline.

Breaking Glass Pictures Brings Brutal 1980s Slasher Homage Butchers Bluff to Horror Fans on March 11, 2025: "Breaking Glass Pictures is excited to announce the release of Butchers Bluff, a blood-soaked homage to 1980s slasher films, on March 11, 2025. Directed by William Instone and Matt Rifley, this bone-chilling horror film pits a group of college film students against the dark and twisted urban legend of the Hogman.
Set in a reclusive Texas town where 28 people have mysteriously vanished over the past two decades, Butchers Bluff follows the students as they seek to uncover the truth behind the Hogman legend for their thesis project. What begins as an ambitious academic endeavor turns into a horrifying fight for survival."
Rich Wolff, CEO of Breaking Glass Pictures, praised the film:
"Director William Instone masterfully sets the tone in Butchers Bluff, a blood-soaked homage to 1980s slasher films. His confident—and unapologetically brutal—direction makes for an unforgettable viewing experience."
William Instone, Writer/Director, on why he chose Breaking Glass Pictures:
"Rich Wolff understood exactly what we were going for with the throwback tribute to 1980s slasher film, Butchers Bluff, and was willing to put some skin in the game to help us finish up the final polish we needed before releasing this passion project to world. The Breaking Glass team has been very supportive and transparent. I'm looking forward to an on going working relationship with the company."

FAKE BELIEVE: "Hazeland is back for 2025. The third book in the series, a collection of short stories under the title Fake Believe, launches its crowdfunding campaign shortly. As before, the Hazeland books inhabit a weird interzone somewhere between fantasy and horror and crime, all set on the streets of an 80s Los Angeles that's almost as strange and wonderful as the real place.
Seven new stories included. All stand alone but have their place in the larger collection of storylines. Only the last story directly refers to events in previous Hazeland books, but it's meant as an interlude and works by itself just fine.
