The Corps Ensemble was founded in 2015 by a small group of actors and theatre practitioners who wanted to push their artistic limits and create a tightly knit, uninhibited and impassioned ensemble to present vital and exhilarating work for the stage. We believe that theatre should be about taking risks, aesthetically and physically, about breaking down the barriers between audience and performer, and above all, communicating ideas and feelings led by great performances, great stories, and great playwrights.

Stewart Roche trained at the Gaiety School of Acting. His first play Curious Tales for Christmas had its world premiere at Theatre Upstairs in December 2012 and has recently been published. His full-length play Revenant had its world premiere in the New Theatre in November 2013 and was nominated for the Stewart Parker Award. His latest play Wringer will return to Bewley’s Café Theatre October - November 2019."

Screenwriter: Damien LeVeck & Aaron Horwitz

Synopsis*: Millennial entrepreneurs, Drew and Max, run a webcast that streams live exorcisms that are, in fact, elaborately staged hoaxes. But they get their comeuppance when today’s actress becomes mysteriously possessed by a real demon that holds the crew hostage. To make matters worse-- the possessed victim is Drew’s fiancée Lane.

In front of a rapidly-growing global audience, the demon subjects Max to a series of violent and humiliating challenges meant to punish him for his online charade. Meanwhile, in an effort to save the love of his life, Drew discovers that the demon’s sinister motive is not only about revenge, but also to expose the dark secrets he, Max, and Lane have been hiding from one another. With only the show clock remaining, it's a matter of time before either the truth is revealed or the demon forces them to meet their maker.

Director's bio* (2 lines):
Damien has worked in the entertainment industry as a film and television Producer/Editor for the last 15 years with credits spanning major networks and studios. He is drawn to the horror genre because of its unique ability to entertain and convey a message, the two hallmarks of his creative ambition.

Damien comes from humble beginnings, growing up in the heart of rural Illinois. His film education began at the local video store where he obsessed over movies of all kinds. He later moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts.

“I love the way that a good horror film can convey powerful messages that would otherwise be too controversial by stoking an audience with terror and emblazoning shocking imagery into their minds. Fear forces us to acknowledge our own mortality and its consequences, and a movie is a safe place to let that emotion flow.”
