Watch the Trailer for RABBIT TRAP: "Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, has debuted the trailer and poster for RABBIT TRAP, the feature film directorial debut of Bryn Chainey. Produced by Elijah Wood’s Spectrevision, the thriller world premiered in the midnight section at Sundance and follows a sound engineer (Dev Patel) and his experimental musician wife (Rosy McEwen) who capture a forbidden sound not meant for human ears while making field recordings in the ancient Welsh woodlands. This brings a strange child (Jade Croot) to their doorstep who draws them into an enigmatic realm where the line between reality and myth begins to blur. Magnet has U.S. rights to the film and will release theatrically on September 12th.
Darcy (Patel) and Daphne (McEwen) Davenport are freshly decamped from London and taking up residence in an isolated cottage deep in the Welsh countryside in search of creative renewal and acoustic inspiration. When the couple set about exploring their new environs, recording instruments in tow, Darcy stumbles upon a “faerie circle” that emits a strange, unidentifiable frequency; this odd discovery is followed closely by the appearance of an otherworldly child (Croot) who claims to live nearby and is eager to befriend the Davenports. Soon the child becomes a fixture in their household, alternately ingratiating himself and raising suspicions, and exposing unacknowledged rifts and unexamined secrets that threaten to wreak psychological and spiritual havoc in the lives of his makeshift adoptive parents.
“It's a quiet miracle that this film exists: an earthy, sound-driven psychological thriller that takes its cues from Celtic folklore and bends genre expectations,” said Chainey. “It took a very special band of misfits to drag this mad dream into being, and I'm so grateful for Magnolia now joining the gang. Their faith in such a unique film is hugely encouraging, not just for me but any filmmaker taking the path less traveled.”
Directed and written by Bryn Chainey, RABBIT TRAP is produced by Lawrence Inglee, Daniel Noah, Elijah Wood, Elisa Lleras, Alex Ashworth, Sean Marley, Adrian Politowski, Martin Metz. Executive producers are Nadia Khamlichi, Nessa McGill, Sierra Garcia, Steven Demmler, Stephen Kelliher, Sophie Green, Benjamin Kramer, Joseph Cavalier, Kyle Stroud, Tom Ogden, Dan Hubbard.
The deal was negotiated by Magnolia SVP of Acquisitions John Von Thaden, with CAA Media Finance on behalf of the filmmakers."

Sleep? Lol. Nope. Tonight is a night for friends, lovers, enemies, frenemies?, little guns, bigger guns, body parts, body fluids, body solids, love, hate, life, death, and things a hell of a lot more super than natural.
A night Dani will never forget. And neither will he.”

Yellow Veil will bring the acclaimed horror science fiction indie to select theaters starting August 28, followed by a bow on major streaming platforms September 9. The film premiered at the 2024 Chattanooga Film Festival, where it took home the Audience Award, and went on to take the Silver Audience Award Prize at Brooklyn Horror Film Festival. The acclaimed indie film, which has earned rave reviews since Chattanooga, marks the feature directorial debut of writer/director Racheal Cain. Production occurred in two phases, with all of the film’s flashbacks scenes shot in 2018 and its present day scenes in 2021 and 2022, four years later.
The cast is led by Chloë Levine (The Sacrifice Game, "The OA"). Levine is joined in the hellish dreamscape by Peter Vack ("Mozart in the Jungle"), Will Peltz (Unfriended), Johnathon Schaech (Suitable Flesh, "Blue Ridge: The Series") and Grace Van Dien ("Stranger Things", Redux Redux).
Somnium will officially open theatrically Friday, August 29 in Los Angeles for a week run, followed by a run in New York City starting September 6.
Beginning September 9, audiences across North America will be able to rent or own Somnium on Digital HD, including Apple TV, Prime Video, and Fandango at Home."
Ahead of the theatrical release, Cain shared, “I couldn’t have dreamt Somnium would end up in theaters just a few miles from where I started writing it all those years ago. This film has clawed its way into existence over the last decade and I can only hope viewers find it was worth the wait."
Synopsis: "After a painful breakup, small-town Gemma moves to Los Angeles with the hopes of making it big. To get on her feet, she takes a job working the overnight shift at Somnium - a mysterious, experimental sleep clinic where dreams are made real. Meanwhile, Gemma throws herself into the cutthroat world of Hollywood auditions. But as the pressure to succeed mounts, she begins to experience strange and unsettling phenomena, and soon finds herself trapped in a nightmarish spiral as she discovers a darkness lurking within the clinic walls."
