If you've enjoyed unraveling the ongoing mysteries of one of the strangest (and most charming) towns in the literary worlds of Stephen King, then you can look forward to more eerie adventures in Castle Rock, as Hulu has renewed the series for a second season.

Multiple sources, including The Hollywood Reporter, reveal the news of Castle Rock's renewal. According to THR, the second season could feature "an entirely new cast," with Hulu Chief Content Officer telling Variety that the follow-up season will feature a "wholly original" story.

Showrunners and executive producers Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason will return for the second season, with Thomason confirming the show's anthology style storytelling to THR, saying, "Each season is going to be its own self-contained story: beginning, middle and end. But I think that just as the books do, we want to surprise viewers with the ways in which the stories intersect. Just as the places the characters pop up in very unexpected ways throughout the books, that's the kind of anthology that we would like to tell."

The premiere date and episode order of the second season are not yet known. Set in the same world as multiple (and intersecting) Stephen King stories, the first season's sixth episode (of ten) will be released on August 15th, with the season finale set to premiere on September 12th. The first season of the enigmatic series stars André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy, and Sissy Spacek, as well as an impressive cast of recurring characters.

We'll be sure to keep you updated on more details regarding Hulu's Castle Rock as they are revealed. What characters would you like to see referenced in season 2?

Season 1 Synopsis: "Sometimes it feels as though the more time you spend around Castle Rock, the less you understand.

A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock. Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind re-imagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories."
