Knott’s Scary Farm is an event in Southern California that I personally look forward to each year. Whether it is the mazes, rides, or amazing shows, this event never disappoints.

This year they revealed one of the newest mazes, titled Shadow Lands, that takes you on a journey of the samurai, and it was by far my favorite maze. The opening is an interesting type of stage with actors and an animatronic before you have to choose a path. After you begin the path, they surround you with monsters and other insane scares that are sure to frighten the guests.

The next maze that I considered a favorite of mine was Special Ops: Infected. In this particular maze, you are given a laser gun and sent off with a group of individuals as a team to fight your way through zombies and other creatures. As you wind your way through, you are yelled at to keep moving to avoid becoming infected and turned into a flesh-eating zombie. Overall, this was a fun maze and one you should definitely visit.

Another fun and interesting maze was a returning attraction titled Paranormal, Inc. This maze once again starts with a stage-type show with an actor and a video. It begins with the group going either to the right or left, and you are not sucked into a haunted area with ghosts and other crazy phenomena happening around you. It’s definitely a great maze with an intriguing opening.

With the mazes being rounded out by Red Barn, Doll House, Trick-or-Treat, and a werewolf gun saloon attraction (not including the skeleton key mazes if you pay extra), Knott’s Halloween Haunt is definitely a great event. The stage show is always hilarious and definitely worth the time to watch. I won't spoil who the surprise celebrity they hung this year is, but make sure you sit and enjoy the laughs as the people all around the park are screaming for their lives.

This event continues to improve each and every year, and to be honest, the actors walking around the park are by far my favorite of any of the haunts. They know how to scare people and whom to go after. The individuals on knee and shin pads who skid across the cement continue to be a highlight for myself, as they creep out the unsuspecting guests. Make sure to get your tickets and enjoy Knott’s Scary Farm, where Linus awaits The Great Pumpkin! He will come this year, he must!
