With the post-apocalyptic adventures of the Abbott family set to continue when John Krasinski's A Quiet Place Part II is released on April 23rd, 2021, we already have a third film in the franchise to look forward to, as Deadline reports that Jeff Nichols (Mud, Take Shelter, Midnight Special) is set to write and direct a new movie in the A Quiet Place universe based on an original idea by Krasinski.

The Platinum Dunes trio of Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will once again executive produce the third film along with Krasinski and Allyson Seeger via their Sunday Night production company. The exact release date for the third movie has yet to be announced, but Paramount is expecting to release the film sometime in 2022, according to Deadline.

While Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe are all reprising their roles from the first film in A Quiet Place in Part II, it's uncertain if they'll return for the third movie, or if the new film will focus on an entirely new set of characters.

The A Quiet Place universe was originally conceived by filmmakers Bryan Woods and Scott Beck, who co-wrote the initial script for A Quiet Place, which attracted the attention of Krasinski, who went on to direct and co-write the first movie in the franchise about extraterrestrial monsters that hunt humans by sound.

We'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed.
