The first issue of Image Comics' The Vault may have just been released this week, but GK Films has already acquired film rights to the property. The Vault is a 3-issue miniseries involving "a group of divers who, off the coast of Nov Scotia, uncover a sarcophagus with unusual remains and inadvertently unleash an ancient evil".
The comic is written by Sam Sarkar, who is also an executive at Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil production company. According to THR, Johnny Depp and Christi Dembrowski of Infinitum Nihil will produce the movie along with GK Films. There is no word on whether or not this was acquired as a potential acting vehicle for Johnny Depp.
