Josh Trank to Direct Stand-Alone Star Wars Movie

For those who grew up watching the original Star Wars trilogy, it's hard to believe that we're likely to get a Star Wars movie per year for the foreseeable future. J.J. Abrams is currently directing the first movie in a new trilogy, but multiple stand-alone movies are in the early stages of development. Godzilla director Gareth Edwards was announced as the first stand-alone movie director and it has just been revealed that Chronicle's Josh Trank will also helm his own Star Wars movie:

Trank captured imaginations worldwide with his critically lauded directorial debut Chronicle, a fresh and engaging take on the superhero genre. Trank is currently at work on The Fantastic Four for 20th Century Fox."
