Christopher Egan (Kings) has been hired on as Edgar Allan Poe for ABC's Poe. The show is described as a "crime procedural, from Warner Bros. TV and Dan Lin’s Lin Pictures, centers on the world’s first detective, Edgar Allan Poe, who uses unconventional means to uncover mysteries."

The show will be set in the 1840's would place Edgar Allan Poe between 30 and 40 years of age. Christopher Egan is only 26, so it would appear that ABC is targeting the show to a younger audience. The pilot for Poe is expected to shoot later this month. As many may not be familiar with Egan, we have included an image of him from Kings (2009).
